Nancy Yates
Nancy Yates started her appraisal business in 2001 specializing in European, American and Canadian paintings, works on paper and sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries. She has completed numerous appraisals in the US and abroad, including a year-long project in Israel cataloguing and appraising a large fine and decorative art estate worth in excess of seven figures. She has been a member of the Appraisers Association of America since 2005.
Prior to founding her appraisal business, Nancy spent a number of years in the 19th Century European Paintings department at Christie’s East, New York, where she was an integral member of a cataloguing team that arranged sales of European, American and Maritime paintings and decorative pictures. Prior to her tenure at Christie’s in New York, she was a member of the firm’s Toronto office, where she spent more than half a decade evaluating fine and decorative art property for the New York and London salerooms; while at the Toronto office she played a key role organizing special art and antique exhibitions, receptions and public lectures.
Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Toronto.
