Rebecca Rubel
Rebecca Rubel has over fifteen years of experience working with fine wines and spirits. Beginning with her work as a professional chef in restaurants in New York, San Francisco, and Seattle, Rebecca gained expertise and insight into the worlds of both food and wine. Her love of wine led her to increasingly specialize in this area. Rebecca has worked as a consultant at several restaurants and composed many wine lists, and worked as a sales representative for a distributor of wine and spirits to restaurants and retail establishments. She is currently a wine buyer for two retail wine shops in New York City. She has an expert palate and an understanding of current developments in the wine industry.
In addition to wine, Rebecca is a passionate collector and dealer of English and American Aesthetic Movement and Arts and Crafts furniture and decorative arts. She is continuing her education in the decorative arts at New York University.
Rebecca is a principal in Oak & Vine Associates, an appraisal and consulting firm specializing in fine wines and spirits. Oak & Vine can assist with finding rare wines, building and managing collections, as well as in navigating and buying in the growing auction market.
Rebecca graduated cum laude from Columbia College of Columbia University with a bachelor of arts in history. She has also completed a professional degree from New York University in Appraisal Studies. In 2004, Rebecca completed her examination for the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, granting her status as a qualified USPAP compliant appraiser.
