Rida, Roberto Giulio (Italian, b.1943)

Born in Milan, Italy, in 1943 Roberto Rida studied at the Brera Academy and later worked as an antique dealer in Venice where he also spent eight years learning the art and craft of working with glass in nearby Murano. He returned to Milan in 1973, where he turned to decorative art design, incorporating fine cut glass and crystal in his furniture, lighting, and decorative pieces. Exemplary of Rida’s unique design style, the present mirror is decorated in facets of textured gold leaf and flat black glass on a wooden support.
