Chinese painted pottery figure of a standing official. This tomb burial figure was made as part of a large group of objects to accompany the dead into the afterlife with all they had in life. Only the wealthiest of patrons could afford such an impressive, meticulously formed and painted piece. The detailed painting on this item is very well done and much of it is still intact.
